This is a story about a dog,
a mouse and a pub...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve was a security guard protecting the world's largest diamond. This was until he fell asleep on said diamond and was accidentally kidnapped by a bunch of jewel thieves. Bob is said jewel thief who is now lumbered with a security dog. Bob then recruits Steve to his team and then, hilarity ensures.

Steve, as you might have guessed, is a dog. As you’re running to the door screaming, “By the Time Lord’s Screwdriver, it’s a furry!” rest assured it’s not. In fact, Steve has been divorced for a fair few years now and trust me, he’s no Casanova. That, again, would be David Tennant.

Steve has always enjoyed the simple things in life. Hanging around with good friends, drinking in the pub and just enjoying life as it comes. Typically, as Steve reaches the middle of his rather short doggy life, extravagances emerge. And by extravagances, I mean being kidnapped and forced to work for a tyrant.

Since then he’s fallen out of an aeroplane, been chased by an octopus and navigated through a trap laden temple while under the influence of some rather dubious pharmaceuticals.

While it’s not in the best of circumstances that he is forced to endeavour these tasks, he has to admit that these are adventures that he will always remember and despite the dubious company, he has made some truly remarkable friends.
Bob might look cute, fuzzy and round, but so is a cactus. His public face is that of a respectable businessman with many establishments under his belt and a good head for business. His underground face though is something a lot uglier. He’s a master thief, ruthless and a criminal boss to his own rather sinister group of outlaws.

His past is rather murky but it is believed that he gained his head for business and criminal endeavours from his parents. When they were alive, he shared one thing with his siblings; loyalty to his family. Otherwise, they consider of him as being cold and calculated with a sinister mind bubbling beneath his calm surface.

His struggle for obtaining five rather rare and valuable diamonds is only matched by his enemies. As difficult as it was obtaining The Purple Panda, the other diamonds present rather unique challenges. Luckily, Bob relishes the game.

While his crew consider Bob as their friend, he considers them only as accomplices. It wasn’t until recently when he met Steve that he finally found someone who he would consider, well, a captive audience.

First Strip Ever! The Last Strip of the Completed Chapter

In Plain Sight • 25 January 2010
So here it is, the last strip of chapter 29. I’m sure it’d be met with mixed feelings of either sorrow, frustration or maybe met with a smirk. Hopefully it will be met with SOME reaction or other, but I hope you’ve enjoyed the strips. It feels nice to finally get the crew out of the temple in one piece (of sorts)

Now I’m gonna have a bit of a break from Steve & Bob and work on my other projects. You can look at them through Deviant Art, Elemental Micah or even my portfolio site (which I’ll be updating very soon)

Cheers gang!

Firstly, check this out, it's a very lush picture of Steve drawn by Bakasam. I gave him a project which involves Steve and something sciencey (possibly involving a rocket pack) and this is what he drew.

This is the second from last strip of Steve & Bob and at the moment, I’m debating whether to carry on. I could carry on doing what I did before with the strip stuff, but Steve & Bob was always just an experiment. It was a way for me to start and finish a project daily. Now it’s helped me do so much more.

Now I’ve finished other comics, I’ve started working on projects I had always imagined on working on. The only problem is can I let it go. I love drawing these characters, but the few people that do read the comic actually like it.

So I’m just going to treat this as a personal project. Something I feel has been resolved and if I go back to it, it’s because I have the time or, well, I’m too sentimental to let them go.

One more strip after this one and it’s possibly the best strip.

Is it Kawaii? • 11 January 2010
It’s been a week since Elemental Micah’s release. Sadly I’ve not sold any copies yet (which is a bummer as I had hoped to sell at least one by now). Now, on retrospect, I should have sold it for higher and THEN reduced the price to $2.99. You live and you learn.

Also, I’ve been working on some alien life forms this week as well as working on my first proper bit of art on a sun close up. I’m very proud of it and I really think I’m getting the hang of Photoshop now. Okay, everyone’s saying I should be doing all this in Illustrator, but seriously, you can’t win with these people.

Finally, this week’s comic. It was about time there was some resolution with Shelly’s story and I’m quite glad at how it ended up. Also, I’ve got to admit, I do LOVE drawing Melissa. She can be sooooo kawaii sometimes!

Do you Kawaii?

This is a very, very shiny book. Really. Very shiny. Hmm, needs more selling? Well, this is the first ever print of a proper comic book for Steve & Bob. It has shiny strips not seen online and, well, it’s just something you can keep. Also, if you ask nicely and if you’re very, very lucky, I’ll draw a character inside the book. How’s that for a sale’s pitch?!

There was less of a deadline for issue two, so I could go wild with this one. There are seven, that’s SEVEN unique strips that you’d find only in this book featuring such words as ‘Ring’, ‘Baps’ and ‘Knockers’. There’s also a nifty ‘Previously’ strip which I’m particularly proud of and well, this is definitely the slicker book. Did I mention it’s shiny?
